Responsibilities and Duties:

Under direction of the President/CEO of Peoples National Bank, \nColorado, the Director of Shared Operations (DSO) directs and supervises key \ndeposit operations activities for the Bank(s) as well as other operational \ncoordination as necessary. Additionally, DSO responsibilities include \ndocument imaging and retention, statements, ATM and debit card operations, and \nother functions as assigned.  The DSO shall develop and implement \nefficient operational processes and procedures while working with vendors and \nShared Services in support of bank operations.  The DSO will work with the \nBank(s) compliance department to ensure compliance with banking practices and \napplicable banking regulations.  The DSO \nshould maintain knowledge of the banking industry as well as the market areas \nserved. Communicates effectively and maintains favorable working relationships \nwith management, peers, and/or external examiners, auditors and consultants. \nThe DSO will insure that expenditures are within budget and appropriately \nauthorized for their operating area and for the company as a whole. Develops \nand maintains an engaged and accountable workforce. Develops and maintains a \nfair and equitable working environment.  Researches and resolves internal \nand external customer service issues as appropriate.

  • Manage \n operational support functions including but not limited to; treasury \n management, debit card and ATM operations, item processing, item capture, \n hold/dispute management, item presentment, wire transfers, ACH services, \n Merchant Card services, and other essential functions.
  • \n
  • Manage \n Shared operations department and staff for the Bank(s)
  • \n
  • Manage \n critical vendor relationships impacting deposit operations.  Relationships \n include but are not limited to item processing, online banking, correspondent \n banking, card services, core provider,
  • \n
  • Manage \n all daily proof and transit, and exception item processing
  • \n
  • Develops, \n implements, and maintains bank policies and procedures for bank support \n operations.
  • \n
  • Ensures \n appropriate compliance levels for Dept. legal and regulatory items  
  • \n
  • Work \n closely with departmental heads and managers from all bank charters and \n InterBank 1 to set priorities
  • \n
  • Insure \n that established department specific and bank-wide service standards are \n appropriate and being met consistently for the Shared Operations Department
  • \n
  • Lead related projects drawing in all appropriate stakeholders \n for effective implementation.

  • Respond to service issues identified in periodically conducted \n Shared Services Satisfaction Surveys
  • \n

Education:

    \n
  • Bachelors’ degree in business related field preferred
  • \n

Experience:

\n

\n

    \n
  • 7-10 years of related experience including 5+ years hands on \n experience with banking operations
  • \n
  • At least 3 years supervisory/management experience \n is required
  • \n
  • Extensive experience in project management as it relates to \n installation and/or conversion of bank operations related products and services
  • \n
  • Extensive experience with core processing requirements and \n interfacing
  • \n
  • Excellent knowledge of bank operations and disaster recovery \n procedures
  • \n
  • Extensive knowledge of other departments in the bank as they \n relate to operations
  • \n
  • Extensive experience with electronic bank operations activities \n to include FEDLINE remote deposit capture, debit card and ATM, online banking, \n merchant card and ACH origination.
  • \n

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of image and proof capture software and hardware
  • \n
  • Personal computer skills in various software packages, including word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail and banking systems
  • \n
  • Knowledge of all rules and regulations pertaining to check processing and presentment
  • \n
  • Knowledge of ACH rules and regulations, including processing requirements
  • \n
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
