Responsibilities and Duties:
\n\n

The primary role of the Secondary Marketing Specialist/Lock Desk is to monitor the locked pipeline - mandatory and best efforts. The Specialist is responsible for accurate commitments/locks, reporting and reconciling all lock and trade details. The Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that pricing is published and reporting accurately in the pricing engine, committing loans that can’t be delivered under a mandatory contract under a best efforts contract and recording best effort pricing on mandatory loans for effective tracking of mandatory pick up. In addition, the Specialist must have knowledge of product offering and assist in supporting business relationships. The Secondary Marketing Specialist must have excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate well with all necessary departments while maintaining multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. This position has the potential to evolve into a Team Lead for the lock desk.

\n\n

• Lock, validate the accuracy of locks, manage margins and monitor the cancellation/ expiration of locks and manage all applicable reports

\n\n

• Ensure all re-negotiations, extensions, and re-prices are within the parameters set forth in the policy and procedures and/or investor requirements

\n\n

• Participate in daily, weekly and /or monthly meetings with the V.P. of Secondary Marketing regarding any work flow details to include, but not limited to, change of procedure with Lock Desk, Underwriting, Post closing, Shipping, etc.

\n\n

• Address any concerns or needed changes to ensure maximum efficiency of committing and delivery of loans with investors or agencies

\n\n

• Ensure the margin parameters, pricing strategy and overall objectives are being executed as designed and supported in the pricing engine

\n\n

• Serve as a back-up for other Secondary Marketing Specialists

\n\n

• Assist in the reconciliation of cash proceeds from the investors when loans are purchased, including identifying and resolving discrepancies and recovery of funds if required

\n\n

• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

Education:
\n\n

• High school graduate or equivalent required

\n\n

• College degree or 2 years of experience in a related Secondary Marketing field is preferred

• Ability to communicate fluently and effectively in English, both verbally and in written form

\n\n

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player

\n\n

• Experience and knowledge to develop, implement, understand and enforce policies and procedures

\n\n

• Strong knowledge of product offerings

\n\n

• Ability to analyze printed and computer-generated documents and data

\n\n

• Excellent computer skills including spreadsheet and database management and reporting skills

\n\n

• Ability to prioritize, manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines

\n\n

• Detail oriented

\n\n

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of regulatory and compliance issues affecting all aspects of the mortgage lending process

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
\n\n

• Position takes place in an office environment

\n\n

• Position will frequently exceed an eight hour workday

\n\n

• May require some flexibility in desk coverage to 6:30 PM, MST

\n\n
